DV by Dolce Vita ‘Gila’ Boot
Would you repurchase/recommend? Absolutely!Would you buy it for a friend? Yes!Would you buy it for your fr-enemy? Actually, yeah.
I didn’t particularly need these boots because I have a pair that look almost identical. They’ve got the perfect “look for less” thing going, but you truly get what you pay for, especially with shoes.
Typically, the pricier the shoe the more comfortable it is because the construction quality is better and more craftsmanship goes in to creating its solid support.
Originally priced at $118.95, I felt like I had to take advantage of the 33% savings.
I’ve never splurged on a pair of shoes because 1) they wear out and become damaged very easily 2) I like cheap things and prefer to have a ton of cheap things than a few really nice ones (basic quantity or quality- but only as it pertains to fashion and accessories) and 3) I’m cheap.
As far as fit is concerned, these are true to size! I ordered an 8.5 which is what I typically wear in booties/heels. There’s the perfect amount of space for a thick pair of socks and there wasn’t an excessive amount of room around the ankle.
The boots were individually wrapped and well packaged which is essential since they’re suede.
Love, love, love these!
I was contemplating returning them solely because they’re literally just like the other ones I have, but the heel is lower so there’s a world of a difference in comfort meaning I could actually wear these to brunch in the morning, the mall during the day then out for a night in the city.
I tried these on and walked around my carpeted apartment for a bit to ensure their comfort and the only gripe I have it that there is no traction so I could easily slip. Quick fix: Go outside and scuff the bottom of the booties by shuffling your feet on the pavement or (so you don’t damage your brand new shoes) get some slip resistant traction soles, or duct tape. Problem solved. Great shoes!
Lush ‘The Juliette’ Woven Tee (Juniors)
Would you repurchase/recommend? Neutral.
Would you buy it for a friend? Eh.. Doubt it.
Would you buy it for your fr-enemy? Haha. Totally.
This is the one item I was totally indifferent about.
If you know me, you know that I love flowy/easy fit shirts and think they’re like one of the best fashion creations since sliced bread which totally has nothing to do with fashion, but whatev.
Easy fit tops are the perfect clothing accessory because you can dress them up or down; wear the with leggings, jeggings, jeans or shorts; you tuck them in, leave them out or wear a blazer over them; and they hide any belly flab you may be wanting to conceal. Basically, you can’t go wrong with these things!
They tend to be slightly overpriced for what I think they should cost- which for the record is something like $8, not $16. Either way, the shirt is pretty cute and the color is very rich (exactly as photographed)!
I ended up popping the tag and wearing this out last night to a spoken word/hip hop event so I will be keeping it, even though it is something I could have totally done without.
Size wise, it was a big snug around the chest area, but only if I put both hands on my hips simultaneously. The cuffed sleeves were a cut little touch as was the breast-pocket and I liked the split/v-neckline which is perfect for adding a chunky statement necklace.
Capelli of New York Ribbed Metallic Snood (Juniors)$14.90Would you repurchase/recommend? No.
Would you buy it for a friend? As if!
Would you buy it for your fr-enemy? Not even.
Basically this is not what I expected at all. My eyes must have been tired from all the cyber Black Friday shopping I was doing because I failed to notice all the metallic-ness of this scarf.
I also assumed that because it was circular it was something like an infinity scarf- Wrong!
The only way you could wrap this around your head were if you were a 6-month old baby.
This is definitely going back to Nordstrom.
The metallic looked way tacky and overall very cheap.
I don’t know how it got such good reviews.
Cutout Racerback Body-Con Dress (Juniors) (Online Only)
Would you repurchase/recommend? Definitely!
Would you buy it for a friend? For sure!
Would you buy it for your fr-enemy? Nope, she’d looks too hot.
Okay, for nearly 50 bucks, I truthfully could have passed on this dress, but like Lil’ Wayne says “It ain’t tricking if you got it”, and so if you got it, splurge!
This dress comes in five equally flattering colors: black, white, cobalt (blue), coral and red.
I easily decided on white because I have a thing for black and white on brown skin- mostly because they’re easy to accessorize and despite dated fashion “rules”, I enjoy wearing white year-round.
Fit: I ordered a medium as suggested by Nordstrom’s True Fit recommendation and size chart.
The dress fits my waist, hips and butt (or lack there of) perfectly! It’s a little loose up at the top, but I don’t think that’s something a good push-up (or cutlet/implants*) can’t fix!
The material feels expensive (as it should since it’s $50!) and the hole in the back is the right touch of- dare I say it.. Sexy. And to be honest, I’m quite surprised this dress is intended for juniors and not misses. I don’t think I would have been up for rocking this in my high school days, but I supposed times have changed.
*total j/k about the implants
